[Octagon House, Russian Hill, San Francisco [graphic] / photographed by Nathan Klain]. [ca. 1870]

Two-story octagonal home on Russian Hill, in San Francisco. The view is of the east side of the property, taken from across a steeply sloping street, looking westward. A picket fence crosses the middle ground, from center left to lower right. Two boys stand in the street. Five figures stand in the garden, and two on an upstairs balcony. An octagonal out-building stands at right. Research indicates the house was the George Fritch home, which may also be the house known as the "John Bull house", although there were one or two other octagonal houses on Russian Hill.
